Research and teaching information

My research focuses on the role of digital media technologies, platforms and data for political contention, protest, activism, racism, civic engagement, social movements and more broadly political communication. My most recent publications include the co-edited volume (with Mette Mortensen and Thomas Poell) Social Media Materialities and Protest published by Routledge in 2019. I am course manager of Data Design in the MSc program and Network Society in the BSc program Digital Design and Interactive Technologies. Since 2018, I am vice-chair of the Communication and Democracy section at ECREA (European Communication Research and Education Association).
