Abstract
This paper discusses the limitations of traditional usability testing methods, particularly the belief that designers should be kept separate from users to ensure objectivity. It presents a case study from Danfoss A/S, demonstrating how usability testing can be transformed into an interactive dialogue between users and designers. By incorporating methods such as co-discovery learning and participatory design, the study reveals that engagement and collaboration enhance the usability testing process and lead to better design outcomes.
