Abstract
In the artworks Emigrant (2013) by Niels Pugholm, Nanna Lysholt Hansen's Miss no.1,2,3 (2013) and The Woman, the Orphan, and the Tiger (2010) by Jane Jin Kaisen og Guston Sondin-Kung, the voice as an artistic medium is used to create a dialogue between the artwork and the listener. It is a dialogue that concerns questions of identity politics, but in ways that point at the political systems and social problems that exist on a global and national level. In this article the artworks are discussed in in an effort to understand what role voice plays in the Danish contemporary art today.
