N2 - In recent years, a number of collective movements has arisen in social and political life, not least in the arts where we, both nationally and internationally, have seen a growth in the emergence of enduring work communities, not only within commonly collaborative artforms such as music, theater and performance art, but also in more traditionally individualized practices such as fine arts, composing and writing. The mapping, analysis, historical contextualization and theoretical discussion of the return of the collective in the arts are at the heart of this issue of Peripeti.
