Abstract

This paper talks about the manifestation of colonial thinking in the Japanese video game Resident Evil 5. Through three gameplay vignettes the balance between an enjoyable video game and the traces of colonial logic is described. This is possible by contrasting the gameoplay with Frantz Fanon's first hand descriptions of colonialistic mechanisms.
