Abstract

In the realm of science the Kilpisjärvi Biological Station is renowned for its biological research on the sub-Arctic and accompanying long-term follow up studies. Another, in the scientific circles less known fact is that the Station plays a central role as site for developing visionary and pioneering interactions between the arts and the sciences. Thanks to its current director, Professor Antero Järvinen, the Finnish Society of Bioart found with the Kilpisjärvi Biological Station a permanent partner to develop and produce interdisciplinary art&science work since 2008.
