Project Details
Description
INVISEA’s aim can be divided into the following objectives:
To investigate the knowledges on which understandings of the seabed draw and how these knowledges encourage or discourage exploitation of seabed areas
To investigate how notions of temporal and spatial scale work as obstacles to or opportunities for sustainable and fair seabed management
To explore what kinds of values are attributed to seabed areas and find new ways of stimulating environmental reflexivity in the management of such areas. ITU's role is to hire an RA and an artist based in the ETHOS Lab, to develop experimental methods for intervention in knowledges and forms of expertise that inform the making of policy.
