Personal profile

Curriculum

I research current and emerging uses of social media, in particular use cultures and performative practices on Facebook and Instagram, as well as transmedial world engagement on social media platforms, including various forms of Metaverses. I am particularly interested in the interplay between user behaviour, platform affordances and cultural and social norms. I currently focus on user practices in relation to cancer narratives, dying, death and mourning on social media, and the history and development in the use of social media in Denmark over time in the context of election campaigns.

I am author of the books Transmedial Worlds in Everyday Life (with Susana Tosca, 2019) and the Danish book Sociale Netværksmedier (2016) which will be published in a second edition in Spring 2023.
