Personal profile

Research areas

My research is about developing design practices for interaction design which enables designers to engage deeply with the  entangled relations of the situations they design into. It is about developing the perspective of care on design and use this to question the designs around us. Question who things are designed for, and by whom, and why. My research foregrounds the material origin, material expression, material quality, and craftsmanship as the handle the designer can use to influence how a design affects its relations, how it generates care, and with which ethical/political consequences it acts. My research draws on relational feminism and new materialism but is firmly grounded in material form-giving and doing design as the basis for my research.
