New mandatory course for BDDIT 2024



The course Software and AI studies provides students with an introduction to the basic theoretical, practical, and critical principles of artificial intelligence and its social and cultural impacts. After the course, the student will understand how various AI systems—including classification models, deep learning networks, language models, and generative systems—operate within modern software ecosystems. The student will be able to use, adapt, and evaluate basic AI applications through guided exercises with existing tools and frameworks, gaining hands-on experience with model configuration, data preparation, and performance evaluation. The course furthermore introduces the students to critical readings of AI, to provide the student with necessary perspectives to understand the societal, ethical, and cultural implications of AI-powered software systems.
