Abstract
This talk will describe how the walkthrough method has been used as part of a mixed methods approach to examine the introduction of the smart speaker into homes.
In focusing on the bilingual features of the Google Home, I suggest that rather than doing one walkthrough on setup, researchers are constantly walking alongside the device as the user and device learn more about one another’s capabilities.
