Abstract

The changes from static to dynamic, and further to adaptive behaviours in architectural lighting design asks for a re-interpretation of the relation between the environment and the engaged experiencing human; i.e. the architecture and the inhabitant. To grasp the many factors involved, and to focus on aspects of narrativation, enacted by the enabled living practices, the suggestion is to approach this new condition as a dramaturgical site composed of three dynamic systems: the external fluctuating lighting environment, the site-specific adjustable lighting, and the perceptual dynamics of experiencing inhabitant.
