Beskrivelse
Brain injuries and strokes are one of the leading causes of long-term disability. While machine learning systems have shown promise in predicting patient outcomes or performing medical diagnosis, developing techniques
to enhance patient rehabilitation is a neglected research field. This project aims to significantly enhance the effectiveness of cognitive rehabilitation methods through a novel combination of procedural content generation and
intelligent trial-and-error algorithms that can create video games for tailored individualised training. Especially games hold the promise to be engaging for the patient, which has been shown to be a critical factor in the success of
rehabilitation methods. Games who continuously adjust to the patient could encourage them to perform their rehabilitation exercises regularly, which is currently a major challenge.
