Beskrivelse
I have previously developed an elaborate statistical framework for DNA evidence (mixed or non-mixed samples) to target forensic identification problems. As an expert witness, I have demonstrated its power in criminal cases where standard softwares fell short. I will now, through a vastly extended framework that allows for elaborate familial relationships, target a broad spectrum of cases pertaining to DNA evidence. This covers standard forensic identification (whose DNA is this?) and kinship problems (how are these people related?) as special cases. In this project I 1) establish a well-specified statistical model framework, 2) make the framework operational by developing associated computational methodology, and 3) carry out a systematic scientific justification for the validity of the framework and associated implementation.
